April Volunteer Spotlight
After retiring from a small school where she worked as a business manager, Susan Craig knew she wanted to give her time in a way that connected her directly with the community. She found that opportunity at the Pantry, where she volunteers as a shop assistant in the personal care section. It's a role that allows her to meet neighbors face-to-face and help them find exactly what they need.
Susan shared how meaningful it is to be part of those small but important moments, like helping a dad pick out a birthday kit for his child or making sure a neighbor had food for their dog. She believes everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, and that’s something she sees reflected in every part of the Pantry’s work.
What stands out most to Susan is the sense of community. Volunteers, staff, and neighbors don’t just show up—they show up for each other. It's that genuine care and connection that keeps her coming back each week.
