Moving Right Along

Every day at the Pantry, we hear our volunteers and staff excitedly tell each other and our neighbors that soon the frustration of working and shopping in a crowded space will soon be over - the new space will be So Much Bigger. We will be able to accept more food, neighbors will have room to comfortably shop, volunteers will be able to work alongside neighbors shopping, increasing our efficiency and creating more connection within our community.

Worthington Resource Pantry is growing – and soon, we’ll have the space to match. After years of serving our neighbors from our current location, we are preparing for a big move to a new home that will help us serve more families, store more fresh and healthy food, and create an even better experience for our volunteers and community partners. This move reflects the growth in need we’ve seen over the years, and we are excited about the opportunities it will bring.

This month - we were able to rescue grocery store shelves with the help of our box truck, and our new palette stacker that was purchased with a generous grant from SWACO. We can’t wait until we can put it to use in our new location and fill it with food for our neighbors to enjoy.

Moving the Pantry isn’t as simple as packing up boxes – it takes careful planning and community support. We are working hard behind the scenes to make this transition as smooth as possible, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new space. As we prepare to begin construction on the site in April, we need your support more than ever to help build the new Pantry from the ground up. Stay updated on the move and contribute to the building fund by visiting our move page.
